FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Are classes kept small?
Yes, To ensure each and every student is provided with the best dance education, Geelong School Of Dance limits class numbers in all of its classes to ensure an optimal teaching environment. Our class cap depends on the age level and and how many teacher assistants we have in the class.
Is there a uniform and is it compulsory?
Yes, we do have a uniform please click on the uniform tab for requirements or refer to information booklet sent via email. We do not expect our new students to be in full uniform for their first lesson.
How are class fee's paid?
Class fee's are either paid by term invoice or weekly direct debit.
Invoice payment options include: bank transfer, cash or eftpos.
How much are Fees?
Depending how many weeks in the school term (same as the victorian school term) and what age category - fees range from $100-160 per term.
Do you have a End Of Year Concert?
Yes. We have an annual end of year concert held at GPAC (Geelong Performing Arts Centre) the whole school performs in this concert excluding our Toddlers & Sub Tiny Tots.
Our toddler & Sub Tiny Tots students perform separately at Mcauley Hall Sacred Heart College.
Do you have any performance opportunities throughout the year?
Yes. In addition to our End of Year Concert, we offer an optional Mid Year Showcase many of our dancers love to be involved in. We love being involved in the community and perform at events such as: Pako Festa Parade and Gala Day Parade.
Are parents/Guardians required to sew or supply costumes for the performances?
No. We have a costume hire fee families pay once for the year. The hire fee covers students costumes worn for end of year concert and any other performances they choose to perform in throughout the year.
Do you offer class trials?
Yes. Depending on the age level and class trials cost between $11-15. Our dance trials are subject to availability in the dance class. To book a class trial please contact our office via email.
If I miss a dance class may I attend a make up lesson?
Yes. A make up lesson can be booked subject to availability, if we have an alternative day and time. Bookings must be made prior through email or call our office phone.
